Are you desperately in need of a moisturiser which doesn’t suffocate your skin or clog your pores? Or a lightweight moisturiser to soothe you irritated skin?
Well we’ve gathered a few nice creams which are suitable for those with oily skin, whether that be acne prone or sensitivity prone.
COSRX AC Collection Lightweight Soothing Moisturiser
Key Ingredients
- Propolis
- Aloe Leaf water
- Green tea leaf water
- Niacinamide
- Centella complex
Key Points
- Soothing
- Healing
- Acne care
- Sebum control
- Oil free
COSRX’s AC Collection Lightweight Soothing Moisturiser as the name suggests is quite lightweight and fast absorbing. However, it also helps to create a fine barrier on the surface of the skin as an additional form of protection from external stressors and to trap in the much-needed hydration and nourishment inside the skin.
Once again, COSRX has chosen to swap out ingredients like water, for more beneficial substitutes like Aloe Vera Leaf water and Green Tea Leaf water which are both A LOT more hydrating, soothing and gentle on the skin. Both of these also have antioxidant qualities that help to accelerate skin cell turnover which in turn also increase the skin’s healing rate.
This is aided by Propolis Extract; the first ingredient on the list, and a Centella Extract Complex; Asiaticoside, Asiatic Acid and Madecassic Acid. All three of these are able to actively soothe and calm the skin while also promoting healing. And Propolis, as you all know, is another amazing healing agent for sensitised skin. Furthermore, it’s anti-inflammatory and antiseptic properties make it an ideal ingredient for those with sensitive AND acne prone skin.
THEFACESHOP Chia Seed Hydro Cream
Key Ingredients
- Chia seed
- B12
Key Points
- Oil control
- Deep hydration
Much like the Chia Seed Lotion, this cream is also extremely lightweight and delivers hydration to the deeper layers of the skin. However, it is slightly heavier or thicker in comparison to the lotion making it more suitable for night wear.
This is because, our skin repairs itself the most during the time that we are asleep. Meaning, it requires that little bit of extra hydration, moisture and protection from the moisture barrier most creams offer. The Chia Seed Hydro Cream is just the same. Plus, it even contains Vitamin B12, another really effective healing agent to aide the skin’s process of healing, strengthening and cell turnover.
This cream is most suitable for those with oily skin and for those who don’t have extremely sensitive skin. It’s unique formulation with Chia Seeds allows it to provide enough hydration and moisture to last the skin all night, while also not burdening or suffocating your skin!
COSRX Green Tea Aqua Soothing Gel Cream
Key Ingredients
- Panthenol
- Green tealeaf extract
- Various plant leaf extracts
Key Points
- Cooling and soothing
- Hydrating and healing
- Extremely lightweight and fast absorbing
This particular gel cream from COSRX is actually suitable for both day and night. It is purely up to personal preference. It is extremely lightweight in texture. And when I say extremely, I mean EXTREMELY. Once applied, it is able to be absorbed by the skin super-fast, leaving little to no residue on the surface.
It has immense soothing, cooling and hydrating abilities from the Green Tea Leaf Extract and other (very many) various plant and herb extracts. It also contains Panthenol, which is actually the ‘Key’ ingredient of the full line of products this one is from. In the Gel, they also help to reduce oil production by rehydrating the skin and soothing any existing irritation which may cause an overdrive in oil production.
B5 is mostly known for its well-rounded abilities in hydrating, moisturising, soothing, healing and much more.
The Green Tea Aqua Soothing Gel Cream by COSRX is suitable for all skin types, and in particular, oily skin types who are prone to sensitivity and acne. It’s very pleasant and therapeutic to apply, and the main benefit is that it works mainly on the inside (so it’s not going to make your skin feel icky of heavy!)
